Ahhh the life.....

Oh to be able to take a bath and sleep through it!!

(the entire point of the bath other than because she needed it was to get her to wake up so I could feed her)

2 weeks old...

Em was 2 weeks old on Friday....we had her to the Dr. earlier in the week for a weight check and she has definitely gained all her weight back and then some.....9 lbs. 10 oz already.....

Thanks for the Visit

Grandma J and Grandpa H came to visit this past week. They got to meet Em for the first time and also spent a great deal of time helping us get ready for the move this week - Thanks so much!!

Hand stitched with LOVE

Grandma J has made each grandchild their own special quilt....So Em became the proud owner of her very own hand stitched quilt this past week.

Lesson Learned (I think)

So you would think after already having 2 kids....by the time the 3rd rolls around - I would have everything figured out - but after today I am beginning to think - NOT -
Em has had a hard time pooping the last day or so....and this afternoon I went into our room to change her diaper on her changing table that is connected to her pack n' play - well I didn't take every precaution I should have and boy did I pay for it...in the midst of holding up her bum to clean it...she decided to let loose and finally poop - projectile poop - all over everything! What is bad enough is that this isn't the first time she has done this - her first week home she did the same thing all over my bathroom during a wash cloth bath....you would have thought I would have learned the first time - so now we are currently in the process of washing a duvet cover, sheets, blanket and mattress pad....along with her changing table pad and blanket.
And to think I thought A & E were my messy ones!!

Last Days of Summer....

I think we are seeing our final warm days this week...today was a record breaker...92 - a little too warm for me this time of the year...but we did get the kids out to the park today to enjoy the sunshine.

First Bath...

We gave Em her first bath tonight....she liked it!! She just doesn't like being dressed and undressed!

Cookie Monster

E is definitely our little "cookie monster" - if there is a cookie to be had - E will take it!!

Books, Books & more Books.....

A & E are really into books right now - which is great...I don't know if it's just a phase or because all of their toys have been packed away now for about a month....but it's fun to watch.
A has read a few books so many times she has them memorized and now we can often find her in her room either reading them to E or her "babies".

Cuteness.....

1 Week Old.....

G'ma left today....her presence will definitely be missed - but I am happy to report we did survive the afternoon and evening...and at this point in time all family members are sleeping - except me - I suppose I should be...it just makes the night longer though going to bed too early and having to get up to feed Em that many more times....so I'll wait it out.

Can you guess what she is doing in this picture??

Each day she seems more alert and awake just a wee bit more.

Ana is always saying "oh she is just so cute" - so today I told her she was "so cute too" and she told me that no she wasn't because she wasn't a baby but rather a big girl. I guess Big Girl's are not cute??

House Pics.....

Finally some up to date pictures of the house....2 weeks from tomorrow (Friday) is moving day!!

More pics of Em....

Em has a case of jaundice that we've been closely monitoring - hopefully we are on the downward slope and won't have to make anymore trips to the Dr. for awhile.

First Visitors.....

Grandma & Papa....Papa came for quick trip this past weekend and Grandma has been with us off and on for about 3 weeks now - we'll sure miss her when she leaves at the end of the week - but she'll be back to help us move in 2 weeks.

Aunt B was able to come down with Papa last weekend too!

Dinner TIme Tactics......

Dinner is our most challenging meal of the day...I try very hard to not make any special orders for the kids and require they eat what we are eating...some nights or rather maybe most nights this proves to be quite challenging....and often we have some very very hungry kids come morning.

Tonights dinner proved to be especially comical....and any person over hearing our conversations would have had a good laugh....

E is always asking to pray...and tonight for some reason he thought he needed to pray before every bite. Then for some odd reason he wanted to "honk" E's nose....so the conversation went like this...

E: Little E take one bite and you can "Honk" my nose.

Little E: "Honk, Honk"

Whatever works - this however did not!!

A has become a bit picky....so our nightly tactics consist of a little reverse psychology.... telling A "don't you eat MY potatoes" - and then she will proceed to usually take a bite or two - thinking of course she is eating "MY" potatoes and depriving me of that bite and then repeating the whole process over and over again...I am not sure for how much longer she will fall for this...but at least we can get her dinner down her for now.
