Pumpkin carving....

Another year....3 pumpkins carved....yes only 3....when Adi can actually sit at the table and some what participate we will get her a pumpkin to carve too!

Ana dug right in....and even managed to fling a little accidently on Ema who of course freaked out...and that was the end for her...she just watched.

Eli too just got right in with his hands and dug it all out! Maybe I should clarify...he took all the "gooey" out after Eric and I scraped it into a pile.

Ema...content just watching!

Adi....not so content on the floor although she is smiling here....she actually went to bed before we even started the "carving".....

Eric carving Eli's pumpkin.....I took the liberty of carving the other two!

It's been a YEAR....

A C-R-A-Z-Y year......

A year ago today...Eric went in for a routine physical and to have some tests done on what we thought were some "suspicious" symptoms....and came home with the possibilty of having cancer....which was confirmed about 6 days later. 6 months of chemo and we are happy to report that Eric is 6 months post Chemo and Cancer Free!!

The funny faces of Wednesday....

I've recently purchased just a little point and shoot camera for the simplicity of it just being "smaller" and I can manage to take it more places when I am out with the kids.....so yesterday I had it out for a bit...mainly to take pictures of Ema's new haircut and as a result it turned into the kids wanting their "funny" faces pictured!

Ema's First Haircut

Yes, Ema is 2 and just got her first haircut....our kids' hair just doesn't seem to come in very fast....(hmmm wonder whose gene that is??)

It's been looking pretty straggly for a while now....so it was time to just try and give it a little shape!

Ema did so well....she just hoped right up into the chair and happily chomped away on her gum while Miss Lindsey cut her hair....all the while, Eli was in continuous question mode making sure that he was not next for a haircut!

A firefighter and his dog....

Eli spent last week learning fire safety at school and came home with his very own home made fire hat and the "perfect" dog (a paper dog)......

The timing of this "fire lesson" couldn't have been any better...about a week ago...long after we had put Ana and Eli to bed....Eli came to the bottom of the stairs and said his "huggie was smoking on the lamp"....Eric busted down the stairs and found they had 1. turned on the lamp next to their bed even though they were supposed to be sleeping and 2. Eli decided to throw his "huggie" on top of it.....Thankfully Ana had the mindset when it started to "smoke" to turn the lamp off....needless to say they no longer have a lamp in their room....and Eli's huggie now has burned hole in the middle of it.

A little Adi Update.....

Hello it's me Adi....

It's been a crazy 24 hours...I've had my first and hopefully last ever seizure, I have scared the living daylights out of my parents, I can officially cross off my bucket list a ride in an ambulance, I've been put into an x-ray contraption, had my nose sucked dry, had the un-thinkable done for a small sample of my pee, my finger has been pricked, my ears have been flushed, and as of late today I was the lucky recipient of two very painful shots...but hopefully I will be on the mend real soon....We at least have a reason behind my high fever last night...I have some sort of bacterial infection....Here is to a great night of rest for everyone in our house tonight - oh yeah that is if I ever decide to calm down and fall asleep - Good Night!

10 months old.....and trip in an ambulance.

Adi is 10 months old today and gave us quite a scare through the night....Eric woke her up to give her the rest of her bottle that we had started at about 8:30 when we put her to bed but she really wasn't all that interested in it...and shortly after she started eating, she started convulsing and went stiff....the next 3-4 minutes were pretty intense - we didn't really know what was going on...it seemed like she was choking, her breathing was sporadic, and her eyes had rolled back....by this point she had gone limp and was completely unresponsive - thankfully after laying her on the floor...within about 45 seconds (seemed like 10 minutes)...she came out of it....Paramedics were on their way....but it's good that the situation didn't seem as dire at this point because we waited 25 minutes for the ambulance to arrive...at this point we could have already been to the hospital and back.....once in the hospital we determined she had a febrile seizure brought on by what we think was a rapid spike in her body temperature. When we put her to bed at 8:30 she was absolutely fine...and when Eric woke her up...she was burning up. We finally got home at 3 am this morning....Adi is fine...crawling around and into everything like usual with 2 sleep deprived parents just trying to "make it" through the day. Bedtime tonight can't come soon enough!

Fall Festival at Bear Country...

Grandpa Ron and Grandma Mary were visiting this past weekend....and do you think I even took one picture of them with the kids....what is wrong with me?
On Saturday we ventured out to Bear Country to their Fall Festival....if you recall last year we spent 30 minutes convincing Eli to ride a bus there....this year it was no issue. They take you on an open air bus tour through the park......I do find this kind of ironic...a bus with no windows....and yet when you drive through yourself you are told that you can not even roll down your windows...none the less it was a chilly ride...but fun!

The "Pumpkin Patch"

The train ride....crazy thing was...Eli just up and decided that he wanted to ride the train...he has NEVER wanted to ride the train before anywhere...I was a little hesitant that he would really stay in....so I thought if need be Eric could jog along side in case there is melt down....but that turned out to not even be an option....the girl driving the train was a maniac....it was unbelievable how fast she drove this little train....it was quite commical watching some of the other dads trying to "jog" along side their kids.

The "straw bale" maze....

A fence...

We've decided to put a fence around our yard....for a few reasons really - privacy of course, but we also find that most people find that letting their dogs run loose ALL the time is acceptable....and this we've gotten a little tired of....so alas a fence it is.

We have left the far left side of the fence open for the time being...we are trying to put a patio in our backyard too...and have access to an empty lot next to us...so we are up against the clock now...get the patio done before they build a house there.

A view from the deck....

Oct 14th is when this picture is from...and it is still soooo nice outside....even today...it's in the mid 70's...can't complain about that too much......Last year we already had snow by this point.

As you can see poor Ema was still feeling a little under the weather in this picture...but getting that girl to lay down and rest while everyone else was outside playing was a long shot...she was not going to miss out on anything....even if she didn't feel good.

Sickness strikes again...

I am quickly finding out that if there is something to be "caught".....poor Ema seems to catch it!

She had a high fever last week for 5 days....it was miserable for more than just her.

But even within the misery she still had it in her to give me a "silly" face.

Random pics from September.....
