Antigua I - Our room & "The View"......

Eric and I got to spend 7 glorious days on the Island of Antigua a couple weeks ago.....we are so thankful to our parents for stepping in and "taking over" - which is no small task with our crew!!

And this would be one of many pictures of the "view" from our balcony and few pictures of our lovely room!

Antigua II - Poolside......

This is pretty much where we spent most of our time....6-8 hours every day....enjoying the sun (I mean the shade)....right next to the pool. We came down every morning by about 8:30 or 9 to four lounge chairs reserved by our butler......a cooler full of drinks and lunch delivered to us every afternoon.

And this pretty much sums up what we did - reading and relaxing. Eric definitely got a little more reading done than me...I always got sucked in to the people watching.

The "view" from my toes....

Antigua III - The Beach......

The Beach....was awesome....the color beautiful & the temperature was nice..but I have to say...being a girl from the mid-west...I just don't think the ocean and beach are my "thing"...I much preferred sitting next to the pool where I could see the bottom and not wonder what was swimming around me...I know...call me crazy!! So we didn't really spend a "ton" of time actually sitting on the beach...just a few daily strolls.

Ummm.....where's "baldo"...oops...I am mean waldo??......

Antigua IV - Activities....

Okay...so we did get out a couple of the days we were there and did try a few different activities....

Water trikes....really just a lot of work...for getting no where....

One day we ventured off the resort to a Zip line canopy tour.....I was feeling pretty confident...until I "zipped" across my first line....pretty much OUT OF CONTROL....and then realized I had 8 more lines to go....

Patiently waiting our turn....all the picture are of "others"...we couldn't take our cameras with us...they say for "insurance purposes"...but really I think it's because they wanted you to buy their photos of us screaming....

Thankfully every tree was "padded" so I as I came barreling in at a good 50 mph I only really knocked the "tour guide" into the already "padded" tree. What they failed to mention to us....after the 9 zip lines...is that we had a high ropes challenge course to make our way through before the "tour" was actually over.....good grief....that is not what I signed up for!

"Snorkeling"....umm...not my favorite.....thankfully I didn't get "sea sick".....but I jumped in the water and immediately panicked...I am not sure if it was the mouth full of salt water I took in, the yucky "non fog"...fluid I swallowed that was for some reason in my goggles and mouth piece or the life vest that may or may not have been inflated too much and was instantly up over my head....needless to say I lasted all of 50 seconds....saw not a single fish....but took some lovely pictures from the boat!

Yup...pretty sure this had to have been the most "strenuous" activity of the week!!

Antigua V - "The Scenery"....

Ahh...everything was just so green, in bloom, and the air smelled so fresh!!

This was a "rare find"....a humming bird in it's nest....kind of neat to see.
