After a few nights of laying landscaping fabric and learning the art of rock distribution, we are pleased with how our project is turning out. We have the east (front) and south side finished, but for trimming the fabric. About a quarter of the west side is done, but overall a little more than half is done.

Life Isn't Fair
This is what it comes down to: hours are spent raking rocks out of the dirt for the lawn. Many are shoved under the decks to get them out of sight. What is the next landscaping step...BUYING rocks to put next to the house. Landscapers have it figured out...they charge you to pick rocks out of your yard and haul them away. Then they charge you to bring in rock and properly place it in your yard.
More power to 'em!

The Payoff
All the hard work did pay off and plants are growing. Unfortunately they were not all intended or welcome. One doesn't need to go to the fields of north-central North Dakota to see a sunflower field.
Playing in the dirt
Once the weather got better many hours were spent raking DIRT and ROCKS. Not leaves and grass clippings!
