The END....

The BLOG is up to date and complete!

All this to say...I believe this Blog is coming to an END....

We started this BLOG in August of 2005.......8 years and almost 6 months later...1,255 blog posts and I am ready to explore a different way of recording our families memories.....I just don't know quite what that is yet....

I may decide to post on here again some day....but for now...I am closing up shop with the end of our 2013 year!!

December....part 5

Christmas was not really what we had planned for this year....and it ended up being very bittersweet. My Grandpa Donovan fell very ill about a week and half before Christmas...so we decided to change our plans from being home to going to Billings and spend what little time he had left with him and my family! So thankful we did!!

Christmas was a little different...little celebrations here and there....but it was just how it was supposed to be.

Merry Christmas from the Egge's....if you didn't get our Christmas card this year don't feel left out...neither did we!! ;)

Opening gifts is hard work....

Christmas with my siblings and there families.....

My sister-in-law ran a 1/2 Ironman race last summer and my brother framed all her medals...it was pretty cool!

All the "Doll" cousins.....

Adi and Zoe...

Ana and Zoe....

Christmas Morning....

Ema...so proud of her new jean jacket....

And the best picture of all...Papa John...with 13 of his then 15 great-grand kids taken this past August!!! Grandpa passed away 3 days after Christmas...He will forever be missed!!!

December...part 4

Our Tree and Adi's Birthday!!!

Having your birthday 4 days before Christmas can be a little rough......but we do our best to celebrate in true birthday fashion!!

Our very own live-in Doc McAdi.....

December....part 3

Next up was our school Christmas programs, Eli's store bought treasures, a trip to story book island, parties with friends and school Christmas parties!!

The 1st thru 5th graders are a part of big musical production at Christmas time....lot's of hard work...but they do such a great job!

Ema's preschool class got to put on a little show before the big show....

Last year for this little lady to be in the audience with us!!

We WISH you a Merry Christmas!!

Eli's teacher runs a school store in the classroom for the better part of the 2nd quarter....i-yi-yi Eli brought home a TON of treasures on the final day!!

We finally made it to Story Book Island this year......I don't think we've been since Ana was a baby! Eric and I were the "BEST PARENTS EVER" that night.....

Among all the Christmas parties on the last day of school before break...a few of my good friends that home school had also gotten together with their kiddos for a party....I was able to drop in for a few minutes between parties with the little girls....

I helped host Eli's Christmas Party in his classroom...I came with a few games that involved marshmallow's and straws...but we left with so many more ideas given by Eli's teacher....this one involved doing the unthinkable with a straw in your ARMPIT courtesy of his teacher!!

 A snowman building contest!

Shoveling the snow....

Toilet paper snowmen!

And a snowball fight to end the day....again this was all instigated by his teacher...not me!!

Decmeber....part 2

Next up was our Church Christmas Programs.....

All the kids had various rolls this year....Ana was the busiest with a speaking role, singing in an all girls choir, dancing and playing the roll of Mary....but she did it...and did it all well!!

Eli was a part of an all boys...drummer boy group!!

Ana in her role as Mary....

Oh this was just too funny not to post....there was one sad little boy on stage...and one boy that was going to let him know that being sad during the song just wasn't okay.....SO FUNNY!!

Ema's group played the bells....

December.....part 1

December sort of seems like a blur....it was quick 3 weeks this year between Thanksgiving and Christmas....filled with lot's of Christmas programs, school programs, parties, Church events and more....

Ema and enjoying one of our mornings together....just us!

The Great Tree Hunt.....since we got home from California and pretty much had very little time to head to the hills for a tree before it turned bitter bitter cold we decided to just buy a tree from a local store in town.....well said tree was DEAD....DEAD, DEAD, DEAD.....it was awful and a complete fire hazard....so we took it back....sounds ridiculous I know.....but it was expensive and couldn't be decorated.....so...we (aka Eric while we sat in the truck) braved the cold....and found our $10.00 tree in the woods!! Thankfully it was just steps off the road....

So cold that the water was warmer than the air outside on Pactola Reservoir.....a rare occurrence I'm sure.

The last of November......

After Disney we spent a few more days around Pasadena, California Science Center and a day at the beach.......

California Science Center....

The absolute highlight was seeing the space shuttle Endeavour.....it's final resting place was at this Museum and just seeing the story of how they even got it there was pretty amazing....

Off to Santa Monica Pier/Beach....

Cousins ready to hit the beach....enough walking around already!!

First time in the ocean....and they LOVED it!! It was a good thing I brought a change of clothes for everyone...they were soaked!! Never dreamed it would be warm enough for swimsuits but it actually was.

Sand Castles....

Some football on the beach....

This girl was hard to pull out of the water....

We left the beach and went for a little drive up the coast and to a state park for a little hike!

Thanksgiving Day....Ema getting her first lesson in Lefse making!!

She was unstoppable after that......

It was a good end to a great month!!
