Since we won't be in Billings this year for Christmas.....A got to open some of her Christmas gifts from her Grandma and Grandpa D, Aunt B & J and Uncle B and S. As you can see...of course they choose the largest toys currently on the market.
A had a good time ripping the paper....but she was insistent on making them into the smallest pieces possible and then handing it over to you....sometimes it was a phantom piece of paper - thinking she had actually ripped something off...but in reality nothing at all.
Oh...the nosie this little piano can make....just remember paybacks. For every noisy toy A receives...I am sure we can find one even noiser!
So, before we left for a Thanksgiving weekend....this was the progress on our basement from a few different angles.
Including the new wall built upstairs.......
While we are gone they are in finishing the taping, mudding and texturing and it should be ready to paint starting early next week.....Painting Party Anyone???
The Electrical is done....The insulation is done.....The Clean-up has only begun. E has been working incredilby hard the last 2 weeks...every waking moment so that we would be ready today for the Sheet Rock Contractors. And we were!! These are a few pictures of the basement before....
A view of the 2 bedrooms and part of the family room and other misc. closets.
The bathroom....E doing some final work. The contractors actually got the entire ceiling done today, and most of the main family room walls....so we are assuming they'll be done tomorrow with the hanging and can begin the taping and texturing soon.
So as the work continues on our house....mostly the basement. We decided we had had enough with our wobbly railing. So on Saturday E removed the railing and built a wall that can be sheet rocked this week by the contractors. So this is Before...
And this is during....or once it was gone.
And finally what it has been replaced with. It was an interesting weekend with A, trying to keep her away from an open wall, of course she couldn't have been more curious. Thankfully the contractors were able to get it sheet rocked today (more pictures to come) so it is not such a temptation anymore.
I know I've been out of touch for a bit....but I can explain. You see my parents decided they needed a vacation....without ME! Can you believe that??? So off they went to San Diego, CA for 5 days...and I was pretty lucky to go and spend my time with Grandma and Grandpa D, Aunt B and Uncle B. I did miss my Mom and Dad, but I don't think I even realized they were gone until I saw them reappear off the airplane.
Happy Halloween.....This was my first and for whatever it means...I haven't quite figured that out yet....but I guess it reguires putting on silly costumes. My Mom thought putting me in a chicken costume would be just right for me...As you can see I wasn't terribly excited about it at first.
Here we are....just the girls. We were all born within about 2 1/2 months of each other....won't we be a treat next year at Halloween!!
