Winter has returned....

So out went the 50 degree temps of last week and in came frigid sub-zero temps this week.....
We had a weekend full of fog and drizzle which created an amazing display of hoarfrost. This picture was from Saturday...since then we've gotten about 2 or 3 inches of snow...the pine tree's are amazing....(And really I should get out and get some pictures but it's just so incredibly cold...)

Cowboy and Cowgirl's

The Stock Show comes to Rapid City every year at the end of January...and it's a pretty big deal...it's 10 days of "All things RODEO" (okay that's my explanation...I suppose if I was a true cowgirl...there may in fact be a better explanation..but you get the picture).....

The kids all got "hat's and boot's" for Christmas this year in anticipation of this event...and well they just love pretending to be "horses, bucking bulls, cowboys and cowgirls".....Ana and Eli also spend almost 2 weeks in school talking about the stock show and also get to go on a school field trip there....

So this year Eric and I decided to take them to one of the "Rodeo" events....we choose the Extreme Bull Riding this year.....and although it was exciting to watch bull riding....it did get a little long....after about the 30th bull ride...we had all had enough....I think next year we will just stick to the actual rodeo.....

A visiting "cowpoke" that preferred all things pink and purple.....Jaxson, Becky, Grandma and Papa also came for a visit this weekend....

Long days of winter...

The pictures are becoming fewer and farther between as this winter drags on.....I just am not good about taking random pictures inside of the kids carrying on about their "daily" duties.....(a.k.a - playing)...but I did manage a few this past week of these 2 rascals.....

Ema is always (okay almost always) willing to give the camera a good smile as long as she can look at the picture on the camera when I am done...

Adi's face just cracks me up in this picture...she thinks she is just "hot" stuff when she can sit all by herself now on the big couch....

Cotton Eye Joe...Take II

Snow play....

We really haven't had much snow yet this winter (I know I'll eat those words)....it's mostly just been cold with the little snow we do have blown into drifts....We finally had a day last week...where the temps were actually out of the single digits and there was still some snow on the ground so the kids could venture outside for some "snow play".....

The new patio...where a lot of the snow had piled up seemed to be the "hot" spot of play.....

This little cutie stayed inside though....next year Adi....

All ready for Kindergarten...

I took Ana in for her 5 year well child check-up and to no one's surprise...she is continuing to measure LONG and LEAN....43 lbs (80% for weight)...and 45 3/4 inches (97% for height)! And 4 shots later...with some minor screaming and she is ready to go to Kindergarten next year!!

Ana is all ready for spring...bring on the rain...and let's skip the snow all together....
