I know the picture is a little blurry....but the picture was too cute to pass up. These two are the best of friends when they want to be and can be the worst of enemies at the same time!! For the most part they do really well together, probably a little too well at times making each other laugh and be crazy which at times can send me a little over the top. Eli has been a little lost these days with Ana at pre-school 2 mornings a week.....and at the same time I think he is enjoying the one on one attention at home with me while Ema sleeps.

Big GIRL!!
Ema had a her 1 year appointment a couple weeks ago....and although I really thought she was beginning to feel heavier...I never dreamed she would weigh as much as she did.....
Weight: 23 lbs. (a full pound heavier that Eli at 1 year and 2lbs heavier that Ana at 1 year!!)
Height: 31 inches - following right in the foot steps of Ana and Eli - I think I am bound to be the shortest one in the family!
It won't be long and Ema will be walking without the assistance of her rocking chair.....she has mastered standing up in the middle of a room with the assistance of no one and has taken about 3 steps by herself.
And with all this new found freedom in moving around she has also mastered climbing onto the couch all by herself!

The Birthday Girl...
Lot's of smiles from this little one on her birthday!!
Ana and Eli waited with just as much anticipation as Ema did when it came to opening
presents....it was a hard concept for them that they actually couldn't open the presents for her.
And what do you get a 1 year old who siblings have already acquired every toy possible?? Ema LOVES the bath....so we found it fitting to give her some bath toys, one of which included her very own baby doll that could accompany her at bath time......
Purple cupcakes....
The birthday girl - just prior to getting her very own cupcake!!
The birthday girl - after recovering from grabbing her lit candle and causing a blister on her finger and still prior to digging in to that sweet treat! Needless to say we did not light any more candles....and Yes, we were watching her, I just turned my head for split second and before I knew it the candle was in her hand.....
Ahh....For the love of CHOCOLATE!!!

Ana: I like bacon, sausage, ham....but Daddy we don't eat Animals!
Hmmm....I guess we'll explain that one later!

First day of School.......
Ana went to Preschool this week......it seems we've been talking about it all summer long so when the day finally arrived she was certainly ready! I on the other hand realized I wasn't.....it was a bitter sweet moment....so happy for her and maybe a tiny bit excited to enjoy time with just two kids a couple times a week (until Christmas at least).....but so hard to believe at the same time that she is actually old enough to be in Preschool already - I did hold my composure until I got to the car though ( I blame it on the extra hormones!)
Just before we loaded up in the car.....
Ana was trying to show her name on the back of her backpack....I guess you can call me kind of a "dud" Mom, but I went against the grain of every little girls wish of a "princess backpack" and went with the more practical simple looking one....I figured every other little three year old girl in Ana's class would have the "princess" backpack....and at least she will be able to tell hers from the rest.....
She actually only went 1 day this week - they take 1/2 the class the first day and 1/2 the class the second day - just to ease everyone in....but next week will be a full week.
Ana's remarks after the first day......"School was really fun Mommy!"
