We spent 4th of July this year camping near home....we joined a RV Resort park 8 miles from our house earlier this summer (I know...we sound like retired RV folks)...but the amenities at this park are just too hard to pass up....so this was our first weekend out there...and the kids had such a great time. They got to participate in a bike parade and train rides, they had a kids carnival...and then we spent hours in the pool swimming and riding bikes with friends the rest of the weekend!

As soon as Eli saw the train though...he ditched his bike and jumped in for the ride!
On Monday the 4th we actually came home early and got settled back in at home and then just had a low key evening at home with our own small fire work display (i.e., mostly snaps and sparklers) and did a little dancing in the driveway too!
