It became quite obvious to E and I today that we definitely have been having to discipline A a bit more (a two year old will not get the best of us!!) when all was quiet in A's room - so I went in to check on her and she was giving her baby a "spanking" - When she came out of her room I asked what she was doing and she preceded to tell me her "baby wasn't listening" and she was "getting a spanking" - OK then! - I guess she understands the consequences of not listening - and yet she just still proceeds to not listen - hmmmmmm!

The Trials of Discipline
It became quite obvious to E and I today that we definitely have been having to discipline A a bit more (a two year old will not get the best of us!!) when all was quiet in A's room - so I went in to check on her and she was giving her baby a "spanking" - When she came out of her room I asked what she was doing and she preceded to tell me her "baby wasn't listening" and she was "getting a spanking" - OK then! - I guess she understands the consequences of not listening - and yet she just still proceeds to not listen - hmmmmmm!
Say Cheese!
New Discoveries
E has figured out that his tongue can be stuck out - at US! I think it comes with the first tooth finally through the gums - probably feels a bit weird on his tongue to him. Notice I said only his first tooth - I find this kind of weird - just one. Really not another even in sight at this point and for as painful and miserable this one tooth made him for a couple weeks - I almost dread the rest.
What to do on a COLD snowy day??
Take pictures??? We are counting down the minutes until bed time at this point....it's been kind of a long day. Too cold to go anywhere - and the kids are starting to get a little restless.
It's been snowing since about 3 o'clock this morning and still coming down - now you would think that I would be reporting that we have 3 feet of snow by now - not so - maybe pushing 4-6" (it's a slow snow fall) - but snow finally none the less.

10 months old
Spaghetti - Everywhere
We tend to eat spaghetti around here quite often because it is something A will actually eat and enjoy. She really doesn't eat meat - unless it's in the form of a chicken nugget - otherwise ground beef, chicken - nothing UNLESS you make the meat into meatballs then the crazy girl will gobble the meat up!! And now E has discovered a love for the noodles too...problem is very few of them make it into his mouth - it sure seemed like he ate a lot last night but come to find out most of the noodles were in his lap.
Story Time
Story time has gotten a little interesting around here .....A doesn't have the patience all that much to listen to the story - she just wants to point to the pictures and tell you what it is. And E just wants to grab the book and eat it....so it's a rare day to be reading both a story at the same time - they weren't cooperating here either - just posing nicely like they were for the picture.

NUK Update
Well, thanks for asking, I think I am holding up pretty well. I really only had 2 complete all out meltdowns on the floor yesterday. One - about an hour after I discovered what I had really done - what was I thinking agreeing so readily to throw those away. And two - right before my nap. I was certain they were still in the garbage and kept looking but they seemed to be covered with other garbage and Mom and Dad kept telling me they were gone - BUT I knew they were in there so Dad took the garbage out. So now since I don't have a nuk in my mouth anymore I like to talk A LOT in my bed - in fact I may have even had a conversation with one of you!! I like to pretend I am on the phone with just about anyone. So I have officially made it over 24 hours and I guess have only requested it once today - but with no fits when I didn't get it.

Weeeeeee
We joined the craze and got a Wii - I will say - it is the first video game console I think that has ever captured my attention and actually interested me in playing. So now the question is can you guess what game everyone is partaking in?
The BIG....Terrible Two, oops I mean TWO
It's Official - The day has come - we now have a two year old. (and boy would you know it!)

A was anxious all day long to open her gifts.....and the time finally came.

We had a few families over with kids similar in age to A for hot dogs and cake. It's so hard for these kids to come to a party though and not be the one to get to open the gifts. A had a lot of help but she didn't seem to mind.

And finally the cake....cupcakes rather. For the longest time, A has been thinking that the cupcake stand itself was just her cake and has been asking for a week now to hold her cake.

And blow out the candles - that was the other high priority for her. Once the candles were blown out - she was done - she wanted nothing to do with eating a cupcake.

A - flashing us with her new swimsuit and towel. She starts swim lessons on Saturday with Eric - so many more pictures to come I am sure.

A little fresh air.....
Well today was supposed to be A's birthday party since her birthday is on Monday, but 3 of the 4 kids invited to the party called this morning to say they were sick....soooooo plan B - since the kids just got over being sick - we didn't want any more sickness in the house. So we postponed the party until Monday evening (in hopes all will be well) and looked for alternative activities for the day. Thankfully a 2 year old does not quite grasp having her party postponed and it didn't take too much convincing and explaining. She was easily distracted with the promise of a trip outside before lunch and a cupcake after her nap.

Somethin' good to chew

Happy New Year!!
"Hello Everyone, Happy New Year - just going to let you all know E and I are feeling much better now - but we think we gave our sickness to Mommy. I got myself ready this morning to go out and get Mom & Dad some donuts....too bad I had no transportation to get there and well I can't even open the front door yet....so I made some donuts for them downstairs in my kitchen instead."
