Happy Halloween

A little glimpse into our day.......

A and I started out the morning carving pumpkins while E took his morning nap. The plan was just to do 1 of the 3 pumpkins - the big one. But it was so easy and had so little "pumpkin gunk" in it - I decided we could do the other two....Well they were plum full and I've decided there is something to be said for buying larger pumpkins - they are much easier to get our hands in to clean them - than the little ones we think are so cute and manageable for the kids to carry.

Pumpkin #1

Pumpkin # 2
(Pumpkin # 3 didn't get it's own picture..because A had lost interest by this point and was more into throwing the pumpkin top and testing my patience.)

We took the first pumpkin outside - A was not too excited about having to leave it outside anymore but I told her we would come back out and put candles in it tonight. It's funny - her immediate response to candles is "Happy Birthday Oma" - referring back to Great Grandma D's birthday party earlier this fall.

And here she is sporting her "Doggie" costume one last time for a picture.....I think I calculated this costume being on a total of 11 minutes this Halloween. We didn't even take her out trick-or-treating (I know we are kind of scrooges) but she doesn't even really get it - she didn't want to wear the costume - it was really cold out - how many more excuses do I need to give to not feel guilty.

And our "unhappy" chicken
E just wasn't a very happy camper tonight....so needless to say I think he wore this costume an even shorter amount of time than A.

I did make them both sit outside for a quick picture

E was less than thrilled....and probably cold too, now that I realize he had no socks on.

And finally our 3 Jack-O-Lanterns

A lesson in TP

All I can say is - Oh how thankful I am that E isn't out of town all that often....otherwise I think I would go out of my mind....When I walked into the bathroom and saw this - I guess all I could do was laugh and grab the camera. In the midst of getting little E ready for bed tonight - I took his clothes off in the living room and A asked if she could take her pants off too. I of course agreed that it would be fine for her do that. I took little E into his room to get his pj's on and A comes running in (no diaper on) and tells me she needs to go potty. So I promptly leave little E laying on the changing table (I know I am not supposed to do that) but I didn't want A to pee on the floor, and place her on the toilet - all the while now I am back finishing up with E - when I hear A say "I did it" so of course I know she is done going to the bathroom but I for some reason just thought she would sit there until I got back....but instead she decided to take matters into her own hands...and proceeded to pull the entire roll off - and here she is shoving it ALL into the toilet. It was a good thing I came in when I did.

This is truley only about 1/2 of what she pulled off - about 1/2 of it ended up in the toilet - thankfully it all flushed down just fine....

What remains for TP in this bathroom.

Haircut needed.....

So I am really torn as to what to do with A's hair. I want her to grow it out long - but it is kind of out of control. Thin and straggly and she is not all that willing to let me do much with it...so most days this is how it looks - in her face and blowing in the wind.

A VERY warm Fall Day.....

Monday was really warm here....probably our last warm day for a while by looking at the forecast....E really really enjoys being outside.

While over at a friends house we decided to put all the kids in their costumes and see if we could get a picture...of course getting A & E to both look at the camera at the same time always seems to be a challenge these days.

A is obviously a "Dog" this year....this is costume #2. She was going to be a monkey...but refused to put on the costume so I thought it was silly to keep a costume she wasn't going to wear - so this costume is borrowed. It took quite a bit of convincing for her to even put this one on...but it helped that 5 other kids had costumes on.

And E is the sporting the hand-me down Chicken costume.....A wore this costume last year...and was almost 10 months old at the time. E is 7 1/2 months and I think the costume is on the verge of almost being too small for him.

And for the line up of kiddos - pretty good I thought that we got 6 kids in costumes and were willing to sit (briefly) for a picture.

A message for Grandma & Papa D

Dear Grandma & Papa ,
Have I told you lately how much I really like traveling in your 5th Wheel with you?? And How much I miss you & How much I really like Jimmy Buffet? So, I was thinking, this would be a great opportunity for me to travel with you!!!

Plus, I really just need a break from my little brother - he is becoming really annoying - all his screaming, pulling my hair and taking my toys.

My parents already gave me permission to come with you....aren't they just the greatest parents in the world!!! See you soon!!! Love A.

Biscuits......Good

I gave Little E his first biscuit today - HE LOVED IT!!!

I had just put these clean clothes on him....10 minutes before......and they were filthy by the time he was done!!

All Fenced Up.....

With the fall and winter upon us....the deer and rabits have moved in. Last winter we lost a Tree to the deer and something ate my Hostas down to nothing - so this year we decided we need to try and protect everything. Unfortunately we were a little late with the Hosta's - the rabbits or deer have definitely already had a few good meals off of them and they had begun to enjoy our dogwood bushes too....E is trying to put an end to all of that today by caging/fencing up everything they have been chowing on.....seems kind of crazy that we will probably have to do this every year if we want our bushes and trees to live.

Pink Donut

Daddy took me to the grocery store with him this morning...and this is what I got!

My very own PINK DONUT!
(I kind of think it was to go along with Mommy's pink eye!)

Tis the Season.....

For Easter Baskets

A woke up this morning and insisted on playing with her "eggs". Intersting...she has never asked to play with these before, but she totted this basket and it's contents around all day long.

Fall has come...and almost gone.....

The colors around here have truely peaked and the trees are in the begining stages of looking bare...We've had some really cool tempatures this week with lot's of fog. I got the kids out today to try and take some "fall" pictures.....although a bit posed it was fun all the same. (I apologize for the mass quantity...it was really hard to pick just one.

7 Months Old

Another month come and gone.....The latest on Little E - still not really sleeping through the night (although last night he did - I almost hate to admit it though for fear of jinxing ourselves). Going to bed at night has been a bit more of a challenge we can't decide if it is for teething reasons or just no reason at all - but the latest is having to fall asleep in our arms first. Still no teeth - but I always think he must be teething...he loves his gums being rubbed but nothing really to feel yet. He is gobbling up the solids....which is great - We can't wait to be done with formula!!! He can sit up all on his own now and flop down to his stomach, but getting back over to his backside is another great challenge - not quite mastered. So really, no rolling yet. He is really wanting to move, just hasn't figured out the means for doing that yet. He just adores A, and she can always make him laugh and smile. All around - just one happy little boy!!

Tub O' colors

A has aquired a LOVE for coloring, drawing, writing - pretty much whatever she can get her hands on she'll use it...so I thought colors for the bath might be a good alternative to writing on whatever else around the house she can find.

When asked what she was drawing, she replied "daddy" - I guess that would sum up the fact that we DON'T have a Van Gough on our hands.

Too Big!!!

Little E will never learn to jump in his Jumperoo because A always wants to be in it jumping - I had to put an end to it the other day though - she was just getting a little to excited in it and I was afraid she was going to break the springs.
